Clinical Utility Anemia results are often based on the RBC size and concentration of hemoglobin. If RBC < Normal it is microcytic anemia. If RBC > Normal it is macrocytic anemia. Hemoglobin < Normal it is hypochromic anemia and if Hemoglobin > Normal it is hyperchromic.
